39*21*50 A world premiere full-length play by Max Riley

February 13th through April 3rd
At The Theatre District at The Cast

On February 13, 2004 the full-length version of 39*21*50, a world premiere play by Max Riley will take the stage. In February of 2002, TTD audiences met the women of 39*21*50 when the One-Act play version premiered on stage with Madeleine George’s The Most Massive Woman Wins. The production delighted audiences and garnered an LA Weekly nomination for Best Direction of a One-Act for Artistic Director, Mario Lescot.

The first time around 39*21*50 reminded us that “it doesn't matter what size or age you are, how rich or successful you may be, there are certain inevitabilities in life… and "lunch," often turns out to be one of them.” And luckily for us, it got author Max Riley hungry for more!

“Max wanted an opportunity to develop these wonderful women,” Executive Producer, Joan Lescot explained, “to havean opportunity to expand the character’s relationships and their challenges. By incorporating the original One-Act, adding three new wonderful characters and expanding the time frame over which the play takes place, we think Maxhas done just that!”

Set in a Los Angeles restaurant, we meet three uniquely different 50-something friends whose love for one another is equaled only by their ability to find one another’s Achilles heal. Add a 39 year-old business Exec, a 21-year old Office Assistant, a 21-year old waitress and a 30-something gay Yoga instructor, and you’ve cooked up a recipe for both hilarity and heartbreak.

39*21*50 is directed by Artistic Director Mario Lescot and the cast includes returning actresses Suzie Kane, Nancy Petersen, Alice Ensor, and Shannon Hunt, as well as new additions (some familiar faces to TTD audiences) in Karen Mangano, Drew Droege and Randi Haynes. Two Blue Chairs provides the set design and Extended Visions designs lighting.

Show times are 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. 2:00 p.m. matinee performances will be held on February 22nd, February 29th, March 7th and March 21st. There will be no evening performance on these days. Ticket prices are $15 for all performances and group, senior and student discounts are always available. The Theatre is located at 804 North El Centro in Hollywood, just two blocks North of Melrose and one block East of Vine. For reservations
